Educators who want to develop skills in online teaching have a new opportunity at Marian University. The School of Education is offering its first Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning, all made possible via the Internet.
The certificate consists of three 3-credit graduate courses offered within the Educational Technology program and a 1 credit online teaching experience. Individuals who earn this certificate will learn to develop courses and teach online, both in virtual schools and blended classrooms.
The certificate is geared to K-12 teachers, higher education teachers, as well as corporate trainers.
Upon certificate completion, individuals may want to roll over the three 3-credit classes into Marian's Master of Arts in Education, Educational Technology program.
Students who have already completed the Educational Technology Master’s Program need only EDT 604 Special Topics and EDT 794 Online Teaching Practicum.
EDT 652 Innovations in Education, 3 cr.
EDT 672 Teaching and Learning Online, 3 cr.
EDT 604 Special Topics in Online Learning, 3 cr.
Various courses offered online Summer Semester (and other semesters if necessary) that deal with special topics in online learning.
EDT 794 Online Teaching Practicum, 1 cr.
